Spanish Paralympic team (Basketball) (v.o)
This one is actually quite funny. In the year 2000 the Spanish Olympic committee was fed up with its athletes not picking up medals in the Paralympics. So instead they had the brilliant idea of entering able bodied men into the basketball team claiming that they were “Mentally handicapped”. They did win the Gold but were forced to give it back when it was “discovered” that one member of the team was a Journalist.

Éste es realmente absolutamente divertido. En el año 2000 el Comite Olimpico Español estuvieron hartos de que sus atletas no conseguian medallas en el Paralympics (Juegos Paraolimpicos del año 2000). Así que tuvieron la brillante idea de inscribir a hombres sanos en el equipo de baloncesto que demandaba que “fueron disminuidos mentales”. Ganaron el oro pero fueron forzados a devolverlo cuando “fue descubierto” que un miembro del equipo era periodista.
Es curioso, nunca lo habia ni leido ni oido, ni en prensa ni en television. Eso si, el posible pucherazo del Eurobasket Sub 18 de serbios y lituanos lo he desayunado y cenado everyday.

Yo si conocia el asunto, se comentó bastante en su día.
Al menos se ganó el oro. Va mucho con el estilo de los españoles el haber hecho trampas y no pasar de cuartos.
